Overview
The Honors Program provides opportunities for students and faculty to engage in stimulating and challenging intellectual activities throughout the semester.
The Honors Program is open to recent high school graduates, returning college students and continuing students who meet the eligibility criteria. Honors students receive substantial scholarships and/or honors achievement award.
Eligibility Requirements
Presidents' Scholarship
(for Recent High School Graduates)
The Presidents' Scholarship of $1,080 is available to recent graduates of Maricopa County high schools.
Students graduating High School in May/June may start the Presidents' Scholarship in the subsequent Fall semester (August) or the following Spring semester (January)
Students graduating High School in December may start the Presidents' Scholarship in the subsequent Spring semester (January) or the following Fall semester (August).
Scholarships are offered to students who graduated in the top 15% of his/her High School class during the 6th, 7th or 8th semesters (cumulative). If below the 15% rank, if home-schooled, or if attending a non-accredited school, students may qualify by attaining the following Honors level scores on the South Mountain Community College placement test.
